Nate Rappaport is a drummer and composer whose work thrives on blending mystical teachings, cultural rhythms, and a deep connection to nature and the divine. His latest project, "The Primordial Sessions," invites listeners into a whimsical and spiritual soundscape that bridges meditative traditions with improvisational drumming.
Nate can be seen performing The Primordial Sessions at various local venues around New York City. In addition to his own project, he also collaborates with a range of musical groups, such as The Jon Madof Trio, Zusha, and Moshe Sobol Band, etc., showcasing his versatility and collaborative spirit.
In addition to his live performances, Nate also composes for film, lending his musical language to a variety of artistic short films, including titles like "The Suicide Convention", "Acromegaly", and "Isabelle."
Nate's musical path has been enriched by his studies at The New School, where he trained under many renowned teachers (Reggie Workman, Anat Cohen, Billy Martin, etc.), becoming especially close with renowned teacher Amir Ziv, immersing himself in the worlds of cultural and harmonic rhythms; shaping his unique approach to percussion and composition.
